MyWhitchurch was started in 2005 as a voluntary community project by Matthew Lock as an information platform so that people within the community could share ideas and news. The more people who are informed about something, the better the result will be.
This all started when a footpath was planned to cut across Whitchurch Common, which was soon stopped by a local councillor and also at the time of when Whitchurch Skate Ramps were present at the Library Park. Clearly the consultation carried out by Cardiff Council was not adequate at all as many people living around the Library were not aware of the skate ramps until they were already installed. This site would hopefully help spread the word about such developments in the future, thus giving people better opportunity to understand what is going on and to respond to it in whatever way they deemed appropriate.

Between 2005 and 2010 the site completely consisted of a discussion forum with almost no advertising.

Now the site has been re-developed to incorporate a blog/news style format and keep the original forums as part of the site.
