Charity begins at home…
August 5, 2010 // 0 CommentsFundraising these days doesn’t take a lot of imagination but with charities all over the TV and quite a few charities based in Cardiff North it can be an uphill struggle to get people to donate a couple of quid to your chosen charitable cause. Last weekend however that didn’t put anyone off attending a charity open garden on Pendwyallt Road to raise money for the Childrens cancer charit L.A.T.C.H.
Pam and Julie pictured below opened their garden to the community where refreshments were served and home made cakes were on sale to help with the fundraising. They even booked a bit of sunshine for the day while the hosts showed off their water features, pond fish and unusual plants in the garden.
The day was enjoyed by all and the best news is the end result….they raised over £230 with some money still coming in.
What a fantastic effort and a great example that charity really does begin at home.
